27 February
I’ve just come back from the cinema. I saw Sieg im Westen. It’s silly to use big words, but I really suffered watching it. I relived that war, step by step, as one hope after another faded away.
I could have screamed; I was in so much pain.
5 March
My God: I beg you, please let all this come to an end.
The a. [Germany] troops have entered Bulgaria to attack Greece.
13 March
Jum has been married since 5 February. She has left for Algeria.
14 March
Rolph spent an afternoon at the Gestapo: he is accused of spying for France before the war.
25 March
Guy’s mother is due to be expelled on Tuesday.
6 April
Since this morning, the a. [Germany] has been at war with Yugoslavia. a.[German] troops have entered Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Greece via Bulgaria.
Where are we heading?
Tomorrow, a compulsory speech at the Aubette. On Austria’s annexation by the a.[Germany].

Holy Communion at the Temple Neuf.
Since this morning, dancing has been banned. We went to the cinema to see ‘Falschmünzer’.
